Yesterday, I had a chest x-ray as part of my requirement before I officially transfer to another university. I wasn't quite thrilled about going through the hassle but I had to. After a quick x-ray, one of the guys in the MRI center remarked that my lungs are so clear that it seemed like they weren't there at all.

I had to laugh. It was relief to know that my lungs are in perfect shape, my pulmonary valves and aorta are within normal limits, and my sinuses are "unremarkable."

Damn. I need to look for my dental certification. It's somewhere in the house.

I don't know, I'm a bit of a radical, at the same time I'm an old-fashioned soul. I do believe in equality, but I also believe that men should have the right to show their gentlemanly side. Some women do get offended when men try to show their chivalrous side; they point out how sexist it is.
Please. Some women try to live up so much to the equality issue that they forget how women were treated more than equals in the past. They now misinterpret a gentleman's gestures as undermining their equalness instead of thinking that it's a simple gesture of thoughtfulness. This is a world of irony- we sigh how chivalry is dying among men, and then scream sexist, chauvinist pig at the poor guy who opens the door for us.

Maybe I'm just a tragic traditionalist caught in a radical's mindset, but hey, given the fact that women have started to dominate the workplace, women technically run the economy because they're the major decisionmakers of the household, the guys are beginning to appreciate personal grooming and their are also house-bound daddies. Give the guys a break.

The other day I was taking the train on my way to another city. I was quite tired commuting all the way to the train station, and the inevitable fact that I'd be one of the people standing, hanging on for dear life, with other people crowding around you, isn't something to look forward to.

So imagine my pleasure when a gentleman gave me his seat. That very much brightened the rest of my day.

Well, I'm not saying that all men should give up their seats to every woman in the train or wherever, but the fact that the man did that simple act of chivalry is just breathtakingly refreshing. These days, when you go on a date, you split the bill. Not everyone's willing to give up their seat in the bus, even when there's an old lady standing with a bag of groceries. Only a considerate few open doors ladies.

I dunno, call me old-fashioned or whatever. But I think it's a big, big bonus when a guy sincerely practices chivalry.

My sister groaned the fact that she doesn't read the newspaper, or watch the news. I assured her that the only things she needed to know was:
1. Global Warming
- it's affecting us now. And biofuel is so not going to be part of the solution.
2. David Cook
-is the newly crowned American Idol. He won by 12 million votes against David Archuleta, thank God. And sometimes, I'd like to think that he's mine, muhahahaha. We're COOKin'!!
3. Rice Shortage in the Philippines
- it does not friggin' exist. I ate in an italian resto that was taking advantage of it that had a sign on the door that said, "Save Rice, Eat Spaghetti."
4.The Questionable Electric Billing in the Nation
- for heaven's sakes, it's killing us that oil prices have skyrocketed, what's with the electric billing that is ridiculously sapping the nation, poor as it is already? The government officials certainly have something to do with it, whatever other people say.

And so far, a super typhoon had hit my hometown and I'm not exactly thrilled to go back to a place with no electricity. At least the Questionable Electric Billing thing won't affect us for a month.

I can't believe it! My eyes popped out when I heard that Mariah Carey really got married with Nick Cannon!!
It's just so weird to me, I mean, because I never thought that of all people I could imagine Mariah ending up with, has to be Nick Cannon.
I like the Ashton-Demi pair-up, and I can tolerate 18-yr.-old Hayden dating her 30-yr-old co-star...but Mariah and Nick??
I should be happy for my all-time favorite singer in the world, but I gotta digest everything before I know how I really feel about the sudden marriage.
I know I'm not her mother, but... urgh. Nick Cannon?
And the question is, would the marriage last?

First, I don't believe that there is a rice shortage in my homeland (Philippines, that is.)
I firmly believe that filthy people are hoarding rice that farmers have worked so hard to supply, and all of a sudden, we're importing rice from our neighboring countries. This country has a shortage that doesn't exist. Bastards. I live in a province where during road trips to the city, I'd never fail to see the the same hectares and hectares and hectares of rice fields that still look the same today.

Second, Pres. George Bush is suddenly into green solutions for global warming and stuff, when in fact, he opposed such movements for the sake of "homeland security" and even told former opponent Al Gore that he'll put every American out of work for his obsession with global laughing. Too bad. Now he's being pressured by public opinion.

Third, I don't believe that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny don't exist.

Hmm. I'm quite glad I haven't forgotten my password to this blog, thank goodness. It's been a looooong time I haven't touched this account.

There are at least 5 simple things I love in life that never fails to make me smile:
1.The smell of melted butter
2.Eating cereals while watching the sunrise.
3.The smell of puppies, especially when they're only a week old.
4.The purring of a cat.
5.The scent of lavenders.

These days, consumers are definitely wiser.The way companies approach the youth have changed. In this generation, we want to be treated like peers, not target markets. We don't like to be manipulated because we naturally avoid being pushed, shoved, yelled and even begged at. Don't tell us what's cool. We'll tell you what we want and it's up to you to satisfy that need or want.

Yay!! This afternoon, me and my partner in effective business speaking did a spectacular job in our presentation. Our teacher was impressed and said that it was very good. Six hours of late night preparation and only two hours of sleep has paid off!! My partner and I we're going crazy after having a cup of coffee and a bag of marshmallows while discussing how to present our topic.
I'm hoping to get an "A" for that subject. my friends have also presented for the midterms and they all did a good job as well. We celebrated by having some sweet stuff from Dairy Queen. Midterms are over! We're anticipating the finals but now it's all about chilling. Hahahaha.... I'm doing better overall in this second term. Hopefully, at least.

It's 4.05 in the morning. I'm over at a friend's house so we could both prepare for our midterms presentation for business speaking and we were done with it an hour ago. Can't sleep coz we both had a cup of coffee. In 5 hours, we have a long quiz in College Algebra. Damn.
Yesterday, my professor who has a business had me design his company logo. After giving him a rough draft, he asked me how much he should pay me. I wasn't used to that kind of thing so he suggested that he'll give me a gift- an extremely advanced Christmas gift- instead. He asked me what I needed. I mused it over for awhile then he suddenly joked, "don't ask for a boyfriend coz it's really difficult to buy one!"
